New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with CEOs and senior leaders of the global energy sector during India Energy Week 2026, held at his residence at Lok Kalyan Marg.

The high-level engagement brought together leading industry voices to discuss India’s growth outlook, policy environment, and long-term opportunities across the energy value chain.

During the interaction, energy sector CEOs expressed strong confidence in India’s economic growth trajectory and conveyed keen interest in expanding and deepening their business presence in the country.

The executives cited policy stability, reform-driven momentum, and long-term demand visibility as key factors reinforcing India’s attractiveness as an investment destination.

India Energy Week 2026: PM Highlights Significant Investment Opportunities

Welcoming the participants, Prime Minister Modi noted that such roundtable discussions have evolved into an important platform for industry–government alignment.

He emphasised that direct feedback from global industry leaders helps refine policy frameworks, address sector-specific challenges more effectively, and further strengthen India’s global investment appeal.

Highlighting India’s robust macroeconomic momentum, the Prime Minister stated that the country is progressing rapidly towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy and will play a decisive role in shaping the global energy demand–supply balance in the years ahead.

Prime Minister Modi also drew attention to significant investment opportunities within India’s energy ecosystem.

He highlighted an estimated investment potential of around USD 100 billion in exploration and production, supported by investor-friendly policy reforms introduced by the government.

Additionally, he underscored a USD 30 billion opportunity in the Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) segment.

Beyond these areas, the Prime Minister outlined large-scale opportunities across the broader energy value chain, including the development of a gas-based economy, refinery–petrochemical integration, as well as maritime and shipbuilding sectors.

Observing that the global energy landscape is currently marked by uncertainty as well as opportunity, Prime Minister Modi called for greater innovation, collaboration, and deeper partnerships.

He reiterated that India stands ready to serve as a reliable and trusted partner across the entire energy value chain.

India Energy Week 2026: CEOs and Senior Corporate Leaders Participate

The roundtable witnessed participation from 27 CEOs and senior corporate leaders representing prominent global and Indian energy companies and institutions.

These included TotalEnergies, BP, Vitol, HD Hyundai, HD KSOE, Aker, LanzaTech, Vedanta, International Energy Forum (IEF), Excelerate, Wood Mackenzie, Trafigura, Staatsolie, Praj, ReNew, and MOL, among others.

The interaction was also attended by Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi, and senior officials from the Ministry.
